Learn to Scuba Dive - Start Today !!!

Open Water Class only $325*

PADI

At Thunder Reef divers we offer the complete training and support you deserve. Up-to-date instructional techniques are combined with the most advanced scuba technology to make learning safe, comfortable, and fun. Six to eight students per class ensure your individualized instruction and personal attention.*

Learn to dive in one of the Northwest's finest facilities while enjoying the convenience of Thunder Reefs' on-site, private, heated pool.

Cost - $325.00
Class cost includes the following:

  • The PADI Open Water crew pack or the PADI Open Water CD-Rom
  • All certification fees
  • Wetsuit and gear rental - price does not include mask, snorkel and fins
    Mask, snorkel and fins  - packages are available for purchase
                                       - open water students must provide for open water

Worried about getting cold?  Do your open water dives in a dry suit for only $100 additional! Includes dry suit orientation!

Thunder Reef Divers offers a 10% discount to student divers on equipment purchases during class and up to two weeks following certification.

Be sure to select Thunder Reef Divers as your dive center to get the best instruction in a state-of-the-art facility. We have our own heated, indoor swimming pool to make your experience comfortable, as well as exciting!



Open Water Diver Four Week Class
This four week course that meets in the evening on Tuesday or Thursday from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Students utilize the manual and video or CD-ROM to complete the academic portion at home. This course concludes at the ocean for an exciting weekend at Hood Canal or Puget Sound to complete four open water dives over two days.*
Classroom and pool instruction are conducted right here at Thunder Reef as part of your training before open water.

Weekend Course
This course meets for two consecutive weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. During the first weekend you will review all the academic material you learned during your home based training. You will also acquire pool skills that will be essential on your ocean diving weekend. The second weekend you will travel to either the Hood Canal or Puget Sound area where you will experience the beauty of Pacific Northwest diving.*

Open Water Diver Two Week Class
This course meets Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm for two weeks covering academic and pool instruction. Students utilize the manual and video or CD-ROM to complete the academic portion at home. The course concludes at the Hood Canal or Puget Sound area for an exciting weekend of open water dives.*

Instructor Referral
Complete your textbook studies and pool work with us. Do your open water certification dives on your tropical vacation. What could be better?
Cost $260 - Includes book or CD-ROM.

Private Open Water Course
Cost $485 - Includes educational materials, certification fees, rental gear and instruction, tailored to meet your schedule.*

*Additional cost for boat dives may apply.  $75 per two-tank dive per day.

Adventures in Diving (Advanced Open Water)
As soon as you've received your Open Water certification, you're ready to experience some of the most popular adventures in diving. This PADI course meets one evening from 6:30 to 9:00 PM to discuss the five advanced open water dives. You will learn: Underwater Navigation and Deep Diving, plus three Elective Dives that may include a Boat Dive*, Search and Recovery, Photography, Underwater Naturalist, etc.
Cost - $245
*Additional cost for boat dives.

Rescue Class
This course is an important step in your continuing education as a diver. It not only focuses on how to help others in trouble, but also on how to prevent problems before they occur and how to get yourself out of trouble. We promise you'll say that this is the best dive class you've ever had. It's serious fun.
Cost - $265

Emergency First Response
The emergency first response primary care (CPR) and secondary (first aid) courses teach you life threatening medical emergencies. EFR's unique course structure allows flexible learning on your own time and practical hands-on training sessions with a qualified instructor.
Cost - $60 ($40 with Rescue Class)

Enriched Air/Nitrox
The PADI Enriched Air Diver Course is a great way to get initiated into the Enriched Air (Nitrox) environment. This course allows you to safely plan and participate in Enriched Air diving while doubling your available bottom time.

Oxygen Provider for Scuba Diving Injuries
You have learned during other dive training that oxygen is often given during diving accidents. This course teaches you what to do and how to administer oxygen in a dive related accident. This course meets one evening from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Equipment Specialty
Have you ever wondered how your regulator works? Maybe you have been on the beach and during your buddy check you discovered a problem with your equipment that forced you to cancel your dive! This course will help you realize what is an easily correctable problem and what is a problem that is best left to a professional technician. Class meets for approximately six hours over two days.

Altitude Diving
Last year we dove Clear lake (3,012' elevation) and Crater Lake (6,176' elevation). This year could be your year to dive in the cold clear waters of the high Cascade lakes. Learn to use Altitude Dive tables, and the specifics of diving at Altitude.

Drysuit Diving
You don't have to stop diving just because you can't afford another tropical dive trip. You can even rent a dry suit and learn to dive dry.

Peak Performance Buoyancy
Going on a Tropical Coral Reef trip? Having weighting problems? Are you using more air than you think you should? PPB is for you! Learn how to trim, proper descent procedures not taught in OW class, advanced breath control techniques, proper weighting tricks, sculling methods useful for UW photography and wreck diving, advanced hovering and scuba swimming skills for maintaining your position in the water column. Fun !!!!

UW Photography and Videography
Bring 'em back alive. Relive your dive adventures. Show friends and relatives what you saw down there! This is a whole new type of diving and you will see the results.

Deep Diver
Get certified to dive safely to the absolute depth limit of recreational scuba diving, 130 feet

Night Diver
See the animals that only come out of their dens after the sun is below the horizon.  Learn to dive at night, and experience some of the best diving available.

Search and Recovery Diver
Ever had anyone ask you if you could help them find something of value that fell overboard on their boat?  Would you feel confident enough to be able to perform an underwater search?  What about bringing a heavy object to the surface safely, and easily?  This class will prepare you for that.

Underwater Navigator
How far is it to the exit point?  If you'd rather not do those long surface swims, spend a few dives learning how to navigate underwater.  Learn  techniques to make you confident you know where you are at all times.

Wreck Diver
As you swim from one compartment into another, you'll picture the crew faithfully performing their duties.  Learn to explore shipwrecks inside and out.  This course will give you the skills to penetrate wrecks safely, as well as the knowledge to know when you shouldn't.  

Boat Diver
Leave the shore diving behind.  Learn how much easier and fun it is to dive from boats!

Master Scuba Diver
Get through rescue diver, and take five specialty classes, and you are eligible to apply for the highest non-professional rank you can get in recreational diving.  MASTER SCUBA DIVER!

 

Dive Master Course
The PADI Dive Master program gives you instructor level knowledge of diving theory. You will learn the skills needed to assist an instructor during training activities and to assume responsibility for the welfare of other divers in your charge. Course schedule is developed with your instructor for personalized attention and includes internship with at least two open water classes.

Assistant Instructor Course
The PADI Assistant Instructor program introduces you to the concepts of teaching PADI classes. This is the first step in becoming a PADI Instructor. The Assistant Instructor Course prepares you for the Instructor Development Course.
